Micro Fiction Writing Competition Winners: S2 Round 6

The results are in for our 6th and last round of this series of micro-fiction writing competitions. It’s sad to see the competition series come to an end but I’m excited to say that we now have 60 stories for our second Mum Life Stories Anthology, which is shaping up to be a number 1 best seller (hey, I can dream can’t I?) Let’s see if I can get it finished and published by Mothers Day. It surely makes the best Mothers Day gift and an all-round beautiful keepsake. Wish me luck as life just seems to get busier and busier.

Quick snap shot of whats been happening for me! I recently moved my little family over 1400km’s away to the suburbs of Brisbane city, to be closer to my nearly 20-year-old twin boys and provide my daughter with more opportunities for study and work. We are loving it so far but it has meant a very busy life and not a lot of time for writing or creating. Looking forward to getting back into it all very soon.

Micro Fiction Writing Competition Winners: S2 Round 5

The results are in for our second last round of this series of micro-fiction writing competitions. I’m excited to say there’s only 1 more round before production begins on the second Mum Life Stories Anthology, which is shaping up to be a number 1 best seller (hey, I can dream can’t I?) so that means only one more chance to get your story included in the book. Get your thinking caps on and let’s fill the end of the anthology with tales our readers will remember long after they put it down (but let’s hope they can’t put it down).

Micro Fiction Writing Competition S2 Round 4: Deadline extended!

Hey amazing writers and readers alike. If you’re a subscriber, you may have received an email from me recently informing you that judging this round would be extended due to unforeseen circumstances (including a robbery), but upon reflection and review of the entries, I have decided to open up the competition for a further 2 weeks as there are not enough qualifying submissions to ethically choose 10 submissions for the short list. Please help by reposting the original post (found HERE) on social media and telling all your writer friends. The new deadline will be August the 25th at Midnight AEST. It would be amazing if you could please, please, please spread the word and get more writers involved. It would really help to get this round through to completion and offer the writers the healthy competition they deserve.

I understand that the $2 entry fee may put people off and whilst I’d love to keep the entry FREE, I’m not sure my bank account will thank me for it. The entry fee helps pay for the prize money, but what’s left has to come from my own pocket, which I’m more than willing to do as it’s a pleasure to hear such excitement from writers when their stories are chosen for a prize and publication. Your very helpful contribution, of a small entry fee, will help me to keep these competitions running and if we get enough from these ongoing competitions, we can eventually make them FREE.

Micro Fiction Writing Competition S2 Round 4: Deadline extended!

Hey awesome peeps. So um obviously I did not adequately promote this round of the competition. So far we have received a grand total of 6 entries, not even enough to fill a shortlist let alone provide fair competition. So once again I am extending the submission deadline for another 14 days, and promoting like mad, please help by reposting on social media and telling all your writer friends. The new deadline will be May 8th (Mothers’s day for some of us) at Midnight AEST. It would be amazing if you could please, please, please spread the word and get more writers involved. It would really help to get this competition through to completion and offer the writers the healthy competition they deserve.

Micro Fiction Writing Competition Winners: S2 Round 3

My apologies for the delay in getting these results out. I think I’ve bitten off more than I can chew this year. Besides having the kids full time now, I’ve got work, study and the blog, plus I’ve started a new business…Again! It’s taken me a while to find my groove with something that I can make myself that doesn’t require copious hours of physically demanding activity and that fits with all the things I love to create, but I think I’m finally in my element. I’ve combined my love of boho & rustic decor into a business, making and selling just that. I’ll do a special feature article on it soon, but for now, you can check out my Etsy store (BohoJo’s Decor) if you like at https://www.etsy.com/shop/BohoJosDecor or follow the store on Facebook or Instagram!

Now onto the important stuff.
